Based in Fairfield County, CT we are a 501(c)3 animal rescue operation fueled by the sale of delicious locally sourced coffees. Supported by community-based businesses and residents, we work with a community of dog lovers to facilitate successful adoptions throughout Southwestern Connecticut. We are proud to announce a new rescue campaign called Bring ‘Em Home which is a partnership between several top-notch rescue groups and the Bridgeport Animal Shelter to place dogs and cats with Fairfield County families. We also support the Fairfield Animal Shelter and all animals in need.

Blue Ribbon Animal Rescue Testimonials

I have been a friend and neighbor of Sue for 20 years and her positivity and effervescent personality is contagious. I have witnessed her passion, determination and sacrifice to help our 4-legged friends in need. Most recently, I went to Sue to share a story of a dog in desperate need in our community. The situation was a community group effort but legally no one could help. It was Sue to the rescue, who facilitated efforts to draft a town ordinance which created better guidelines to allow increased authority to local Animal Control and is currently waiting to pass. Sue then doubled her efforts in taking the next step by pushing State Legislation for sheltering and tethering guidelines to help protect our Connecticut Dogs. Go Sue! I could not think of a better person to work in Animal Rescue!

Laurie Quick, Fairfield, CT

As the owner of The Hideaway Kitchen & Bar in Ridgefield, CT I am honored to be the first dining establishment to carry Blue Ribbon Animal Rescue’s RescueBrew coffees. Sue is a lifelong animal rescuer and I’m happy to help her to save innocent lives. My team and I are thrilled to be serving her coffee and to have hosted Sue’s adoption event last Fall. We are also pleased to feature animals from Ridgefield-based ROAR as well as to help animals in need from around Fairfield County. I hope everyone will join us for our delicious food, savor RescueBrew coffees and attend Sue’s adoption events.

As a mental health professional and owner of Cos Cob Counseling Center, I enthusiastically support Blue Ribbon Animal Rescue/RescueBrew. Sue Cronin’s passion for helping homeless dogs over the last 30 years is so inspiring! She recently formed Blue Ribbon so that critical funding can be raised to transport and place even more dogs in forever homes. And the RescueBrew coffee is also delicious!

Sue Cronin, Founder

From her years in Brooklyn, Boston and Fairfield County, CT Sue has been working to save animals in need. The inspiration for Blue Ribbon Animal Rescue comes from Sue’s second Border Collie named Duke. Eight years ago, Lisanne Mikan from Adopt Me Bluegrass Rescue out of Louisville, Kentucky, asked if she would take him. He had been abandoned by his abusive owner and he was totally shut down. Having years of experience raising Shelby, Sue’s first rescued Border Collie, she agreed to take him. After years of love and care, Duke began to thrive. He became a tail-wagging happy boy who found his greatest joy in running off leash on local trails and romping with his friends. Duke’s happy ending inspired Sue to save as many of these wonderful animals as possible, because she knows from experience that even dogs considered to be “lost causes” can live out their lives happily and safely.

The Blue Ribbon Animal Rescue and RescueBrew logos were designed by Sue’s nephew Jack, who is a Boston-based artist and Founder of JackPooleArt. Their hope is for Duke’s handsome face to inspire the rescue of many more deserving animals…and they’re all deserving!
